A New Bridge in Turkey–Africa Health Tourism: ULUSKON Launches the “Flights on Us” Mission

As Turkey strengthens its position as a regional hub in healthcare services with its high quality and accessibility, a new diplomatic and economic initiative toward the African market is taking shape.
Nezaket Emine Atasoy, President of ULUSKON (International Investment and Business Confederation), announced a comprehensive initiative aimed at bringing Turkey’s health tourism potential to the African continent.

Atasoy emphasized that this diplomatic mission with African nations carries not only an economic but also a humanitarian dimension, stating:

“Connecting the people of Africa with Turkey’s world-class healthcare services is not merely a commercial move — it is a bridge of goodwill between continents.”

Within this strategic initiative, ULUSKON plans to establish joint protocols with the ministries of health, insurance institutions, and private hospital representatives across various African countries.
Atasoy noted that this effort will increase the flow of patients from Africa to Turkey and accelerate the mutual recognition processes between the insurance systems of both regions.

Addressing the cooperation process to be initiated between African and Turkish insurance companies, Atasoy said:

“Integration between insurance sectors will strengthen the element of trust in health tourism. Patients from Africa will be able to receive treatment in Turkey under their existing insurance policies. This will lay the foundation for a secure and reliable system for both patients and healthcare providers.”

Atasoy also highlighted that assistance companies, which form one of the most critical links in the health tourism chain, will play an active role in the project. She stated:

“Throughout every stage of the treatment process for patients coming from Africa — including visa procedures, transportation, translation, accommodation, companion support, and post-treatment services — our assistance firms will be fully involved. This structure will give Turkey a distinctive advantage over its competitors in the field of health tourism.”

Levent Uyanıker, ULUSKON’s Director of Business Development, also elaborated on one of the organization’s most remarkable initiatives — the ‘Flights on Us’ project. He explained that this campaign, specially designed for each African country, aims to minimize the travel costs of patients visiting Turkey for medical purposes.

“Under the ‘Flights on Us’ campaign, patients’ transportation to Turkey will be supported through special packages, making it easier to access treatment while positioning Turkey as one of the preferred destinations in global health tourism,” Uyanıker said.

He continued:

“Through this project, patients will experience not only medical treatment but also a safe journey, comfortable accommodation, and a holistic healthcare experience. We will connect Turkey’s advanced healthcare capabilities with Africa’s growing potential.”

Uyanıker concluded by emphasizing ULUSKON’s commitment to strengthening Turkey’s health tourism brand globally:

“Turkey is no longer just a country that provides treatment — it is developing a people-centered model of health diplomacy. As ULUSKON, we are determined to share this model with Africa and to build a sustainable partnership.”
