Atasoy: May 19 Message

Nezaket Emine Atasoy, President of the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON) and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, issued a message on the occasion of the May 19 Commemoration of Ataturk, Youth and Sports Day.

President Atasoy stated that May 19, 1919 was not only the beginning of a struggle for liberation, but also a historical turning point where the nation declared its will for independence to the entire world. Atasoy included the following statements in her message:

“We celebrate the May 19 Commemoration of Ataturk, Youth and Sports Day with great pride, enthusiasm, and excitement. The struggle for independence, initiated by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk setting foot in Samsun, became the first step of a unique epic written with our nation's perseverance, determination, and love for the homeland. May 19 is the symbol of the resurgence of a nation that does not accept captivity, and of standing up for its future with a spirit of unity and solidarity.
The fact that the Great Leader Ataturk, the founder of our Republic, gifted this meaningful day to our youth is the strongest indicator of his confidence in the future of our country.

It is of great importance for the future of our nation that our youth are raised as individuals who are committed to their national and spiritual values, master the requirements of the era, and are productive, entrepreneurial, and capable of competing with the world. We are aware of the potential our youth carry in Turkey's economic, social, and cultural development, and we see them as the greatest strength of our future.

Today, our duty is to leave a stronger, more prosperous, and brighter future for our youth by protecting the core values of our Republic. As ULUSKON, we will continue to stand by our young entrepreneurs, scientists, athletes, and all our youth who will successfully represent our country on international platforms.

With these thoughts and feelings, I commemorate with mercy, gratitude, and respect all the heroes of the War of Independence, especially the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk; and I congratulate our beloved nation and our esteemed youth on the May 19 Commemoration of Ataturk, Youth and Sports Day with my most heartfelt wishes.”
