ULUSKON TO STRENGTHEN TRADE TIES BETWEEN KENYA AND TURKEY
Nezaket Emine Atasoy, President of the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON) and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, paid an official visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Ankara. During the meeting with His Excellency Leonard Ngeywa Boiyo, Ambassador of Kenya to Turkey, the two discussed ways to enhance economic and commercial cooperation between Turkey and Kenya.
A SUSTAINABLE COMMERCIAL BRIDGE BETWEEN KENYA AND TURKEY
Continuing her diplomatic and business outreach efforts, President Atasoy engaged in discussions with Kenyan representatives aimed at deepening bilateral trade and investment ties between the two nations. The meeting explored opportunities to increase the current trade volume and strengthen collaboration in key sectors such as agriculture, technology, energy, and construction. Both sides underlined the mutual benefits of boosting imports and exports.
PRESIDENT ATASOY: "WE FOCUS ON SOLUTIONS, NOT EXCUSES"
Addressing the meeting, President Atasoy reaffirmed ULUSKON’s commitment to advancing Turkey’s economic growth through inclusive and forward-looking initiatives.
"Kenya is a strategic trade partner for Turkey. As ULUSKON, we are committed to strengthening economic cooperation and building new trade bridges between our countries. Rather than offering excuses, we focus on identifying new markets and delivering practical solutions to increase our export volume," she said.
AMBASSADOR BOIYO: “WE ARE OPEN TO COLLABORATION IN AGRICULTURE, ENERGY, AND MINING”
Ambassador Boiyo highlighted Turkey’s dynamic and expanding economy and noted that the current bilateral trade volume stands at around 300 million USD. He added that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has set a goal of increasing this figure to 1 billion USD. As East Africa’s largest economy, Kenya offers considerable investment potential, especially in manufacturing, agriculture, textiles, energy, mining, and health tourism, the Ambassador noted.
PARTNERSHIP TO MOVE FORWARD WITH CONCRETE ACTIONS
Ambassador Boiyo expressed his enthusiasm for welcoming President Atasoy and the ULUSKON delegation to Kenya and reiterated his country's desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation. Both parties confirmed their intention to work together on future joint initiatives.
As part of this partnership, Ambassador Boiyo is expected to visit ULUSKON headquarters in mid-June to meet with Turkish investors and business leaders. Additionally, preparations are underway for an official ULUSKON delegation visit to Kenya, led by Mrs. Atasoy.
