ULUSKON PRESIDENT ATASOY ATTENDED IRAQI EMBASSY’S INVESTMENT SEMINAR AS GUEST OF HONOR

President of the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON) and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Nezaket Emine Atasoy attended a seminar organized by the Embassy of Iraq in Ankara for Turkish investors and businesspeople. The seminar addressed the importance of investing in Iraq and mechanisms for facilitating visa procedures.

IRAQ INVESTMENT SEMINAR HELD IN ANKARA

The seminar, held at a hotel in Ankara, was attended by Iraq’s Ambassador to Ankara, Majid Abdulreda Hassan Al-Lachmawi; Vice President of the Republic of Iraq’s National Investment Commission, Hussein Ali Al-Saabari; Chairman of the Turkey-Iraq Interparliamentary Friendship Group and AK Party Bursa MP, Muhammet Müfit Aydın; Director General of Migration Policies and Visa Procedures at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fatma Ceren Yazgan; Chairman of the DEİK Iraq Investment Commission, Halit Acar; as well as Turkish businesspeople and investors.

AMBASSADOR LACHMAWI: “WE ARE SIMPLIFYING VISA PROCEDURES”

Iraq’s Ambassador to Ankara, Majid Abdulreda Hassan Al-Lachmawi, emphasized the significant progress made in trade and investment relations between the two countries in recent years. Ambassador Lachmawi stated, “We recognize the importance of facilitating the mobility of businesspeople and investors between our countries. Therefore, the Iraqi government is taking decisive steps to simplify visa issuance processes and facilitate the entry of Turkish investors and businesspeople into Iraq.”

VISA OPPORTUNITIES FOR TURKISH BUSINESSPEOPLE

Ambassador Lachmawi highlighted the Iraqi Embassy’s efforts to streamline visa procedures. He noted that special exemptions had been secured through coordination with Iraqi authorities, enabling direct visa issuance for Turkish businesspeople and investors. He also underscored Turkey’s status as one of Iraq’s most significant economic partners, announcing that, as of 2024, the trade volume between the two countries—excluding oil and its derivatives—had surpassed $15 billion.

ULUSKON PRESIDENT ATASOY TOOK A KEY STEP FOR ECONOMIC COOPERATION

During the event, ULUSKON President Atasoy engaged in important bilateral discussions aimed at further strengthening trade and economic relations between Turkey and Iraq. She emphasized the importance of increasing exports, imports, and mutual investments, presenting various proposals to deepen cooperation in these areas.

This event was recognized as a significant step toward fostering international cooperation and strengthening economic ties. President Nezaket Emine Atasoy and ULUSKON member Turkish businesspeople were thanked for their participation.
