PRESIDENT ATASOY VISITED THE SRI LANKAN EMBASSY; NEW COMMERCIAL STEPS TO BE TAKEN BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES
Nezaket Emine Atasoy, President of the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON) and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, visited the Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Ankara, where she held a meeting with Her Excellency Ambassador Saranya Hasanthi U. Dissanayake.
NEW COMMERCIAL RELATIONS TO BE ESTABLISHED
During this visit, which aimed to strengthen economic cooperation and trade relations between Türkiye and Sri Lanka, Ambassador Dissanayake expressed that they are open to cooperation between the two countries, particularly in fields such as renewable energy, construction, tourism, agriculture, and shipping. She stated, “Türkiye has become one of the top ten export markets for Sri Lankan products. We aim to further increase Sri Lanka’s exports to Türkiye.”
PRESIDENT ATASOY OUTLINED GOALS
During the visit, Nezaket Emine Atasoy, President of ULUSKON and UN Goodwill Ambassador, provided information on ULUSKON's mission and activities. She noted that they discussed potential investment opportunities, adding, “We discussed the investment potential in sectors such as construction, tourism, agriculture, shipping, and renewable energy. Our goal is to boost exports, imports, and investments between the two countries. Together with businesspeople under ULUSKON, we plan to conduct a visit to Sri Lanka.”
Ambassador Dissanayake and President Atasoy agreed to work jointly on implementing future projects to foster trade, investment, and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
