PRESIDENT ATASOY HELD AN IMPORTANT MEETING WITH THE MINISTER OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY OF THE GAMBIA

Nezaket Emine Atasoy, President of the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON) and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, undertook a pivotal visit to Banjul, the capital of The Gambia, from January 6 to 9, 2025. Leading the ULUSKON delegation, President Atasoy met with The Gambia's Minister of Trade and Industry, Barboucarr Ousmaila Joof, to discuss key areas of mutual economic interest.

The meeting focused on increasing the trade volume between Türkiye and The Gambia, identifying new areas for cooperation, and planning joint projects for the future. President Atasoy highlighted the rising interest of Turkish businesspeople in The Gambia, expressing optimism that the visit would strengthen economic ties and pave the way for enhanced collaboration.

Minister Barboucarr Ousmaila Joof expressed The Gambia’s readiness to collaborate with Turkish investors, particularly in sectors such as fisheries, agricultural products, furniture, and construction materials, facilitated through ULUSKON. Minister Joof shared his delight in hosting President Atasoy, noting, “This visit marks an important milestone in boosting trade and developing economic relations between the two countries."

In her speech, President Atasoy stated, “We are confident that cooperation between Türkiye and The Gambia will grow stronger, and economic relations will advance steadily.
