PORTUGAL NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATED IN ANKARA

PRESIDENT ATASOY HIGHLIGHTS ECONOMIC RELATIONS 

Portugal’s National Day, commemorating the country’s independence on June 10, was celebrated with a special reception held in Ankara. Hosted by the Portuguese Ambassador to Turkey, Virginia Mendes da Silva Pina, the event drew significant attendance from diplomatic, official, and business circles. President of the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON) and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, Mrs. Nezaket Emine Atasoy, attended as the guest of honor.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and President for EU Affairs, Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, officially represented Turkey at the event. Numerous foreign mission representatives, military attachés, and other distinguished guests based in Ankara were also present.

PRESIDENT ATASOY STRESSES IMPORTANCE OF TRADE RELATIONS

In addition to its diplomatic significance, the reception also brought together leading figures from the business community. Through her participation, ULUSKON President and UN Goodwill Ambassador Mrs. Nezaket Emine Atasoy once again demonstrated her commitment to fostering stronger economic and commercial ties between Turkey and Portugal. She underscored the vital role the private sector must play in tapping into mutual investment opportunities.

“WE WILL COOPERATE ACROSS ALL SECTORS”

Ambassador Pina announced that a Portuguese delegation is expected to visit Ankara in the near future to promote investment prospects in Portugal. As part of this initiative, she expressed plans to organize a joint program bringing together Portuguese representatives with business leaders from ULUSKON. She also extended an official invitation to ULUSKON and President Atasoy to visit Portugal for further bilateral engagements.

In response, President Atasoy stated: “I firmly believe that the economic relations between our two countries will continue to strengthen. We are committed to advancing cooperation, particularly in the areas of export, import, and investment. As ULUSKON, we are fully prepared to support Turkish entrepreneurs who wish to explore business opportunities in Portugal.”
