NEW YEAR'S MESSAGE FROM ULUSKON PRESIDENT ATASOY

Nezaket Emine Atasoy, Chairman of the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON) and Goodwill Ambassador of the International Human Rights Defense Committee (IHRDC), said, "We will step into the next century with a brand-new faith and determination, drawing strength from our centuries-old accumulation that we will leave behind. Atasoy stated that together with the global economy recovering after the epidemic, the Turkish economy faced serious risks again with the Russia-Ukraine war that broke out at the beginning of 2022, "The problems in the supply chains have deepened, especially in energy and global food prices. All countries have made an effort to overcome trade tensions with high inflation. Increasing inflationary developments have caused a slowdown and recessions in economic activities. Despite efforts to overcome geopolitical tensions limiting global trade, supply chain disruptions and international logistics problems, I believe that the shrinking trend in the world trade volume of goods and services will continue in 2023. Despite the tightening monetary policies at the global level, Turkey has been among the rare countries that have managed to reduce the effects of shrinking aggregate demand in the economy with its dynamic fiscal and monetary policies. Contrary to the high interest rate policies, the Turkish economic administration has made an effort to make policy rate adjustments in a way to avoid monetary tightening and to overcome possible contractions in the economy.”

Atasoy noted that they should continue to take preventive measures to reduce the effects of global and regional risks with a proactive approach in advance, and therefore, 2023 should be entered with hope. Atasoy also stated that structural improvement processes that encourage development and growth in the economy as much as possible are very important for Turkey's future.
