New Investment Delegation from China to Turkey: Energy and Industrial Cooperation on the Agenda
Li Bin, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Ankara, announced that a new cooperation process focused on energy and industry will be launched in order to strengthen trade and investment relations between Turkey and China.
During his visit to the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON), Commercial Counselor Li Bin discussed joint project and investment models between Turkey and China, particularly in the fields of green energy, industry, logistics, machinery, and the defense industry. The Chinese side stated that they would like to examine potential investment sites on location with a delegation of investors and businesspeople who are expected to visit Turkey in the coming period.
At the meeting, not only investments but also various mechanisms that would contribute to the institutional development of trade were brought to the agenda. In this context, it was agreed to implement trade support programs, business matchmaking activities, increase the participation of Turkish companies in fairs and exhibitions to be held in China, and strengthen mutual information sharing.
Li Bin emphasized the importance of working in coordination with public institutions, business community representatives, chambers, and associations in order to ensure that the economic relations between the two countries gain a deeper and more sustainable structure.
Nezaket Emine Atasoy, Chairwoman of the ULUSKON Board of Directors, stated that economic cooperation between the two countries has gained new momentum and said:
“We consider it extremely valuable to develop trade and investment relations between Turkey and China within a more planned, mutually beneficial, and long-term framework. We believe that joint projects to emerge in the fields of energy, industry, logistics, and technology will make significant contributions both to the Turkish business community and to the regional economy. As ULUSKON, we will continue to serve as a bridge at every stage of this process.”
During the delegation’s visit to Turkey, inspections are expected to be carried out in several industrial zones, particularly in Ankara, project files will be evaluated, and face-to-face meetings with companies will be held. The talks aim to pave the way for an increase in Turkey–China trade volume and the concretization of joint investment projects, especially in the fields of energy and industry.
At the end of the visit, Li Bin, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Ankara, presented Chairwoman Atasoy with a traditional Chinese scroll as a symbol of friendship and cultural ties. Chairwoman Atasoy thanked Li Bin for his kind gift and for the visit to ULUSKON, expressing her wish for continued and growing cooperation between the two countries.
