MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT ATASOY ON APRIL 23rd

“OUR 105th DAY OF PRIDE”

Nezaket Emine Atasoy, President of the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON) and Goodwill Ambassador of the International Human Rights Defense Committee (IHRDC), expressed her profound pride and honor in celebrating the 105th anniversary of the establishment of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey — the Veteran Parliament that led the War of Independence and laid the foundations of the Republic, preserving within it countless acts of heroism.

PRESIDENT ATASOY ISSUED A WRITTEN STATEMENT

In a written statement commemorating the 105th anniversary of April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day — a national holiday established by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and dedicated to children, symbolizing the birth of the Turkish Republic — President Atasoy remarked:

“The inauguration of our Grand National Assembly marked the declaration that sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation. This historic day demonstrated to the world that the Turkish nation would never submit to oppression. Since its foundation on April 23, 1920, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey has been a symbol of our nation’s resilience in the face of adversity and a steadfast guardian of justice and peace. With the ancient legacy and centuries of experience of the Turkish nation, our Parliament stands not only as a pillar of sovereignty for our country but also as a beacon of hope and dignity for all oppressed peoples around the world.”

Highlighting the significance of April 23rd as a symbol of national independence and the most cherished legacy entrusted to future generations, Atasoy continued:

“Our Grand National Assembly, founded by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his valiant comrades, has passed on the ideal of national independence to future generations — to be remembered, upheld, and protected at all times. This day is a powerful reminder that the Turkish nation will never be subjugated.
