GEORGIA-TÜRKİYE: A NEW ERA BEGINS IN HEALTH TOURISM AND TRADE

Dr. Archil Kalandia, Ambassador of the Republic of Georgia to Ankara, hosted Nezaket Emine Atasoy, President of the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON) and UN Goodwill Ambassador, at the Georgian Embassy in Ankara. The meeting featured extensive evaluations aimed at strengthening economic relations between Turkey and Georgia.

Health Tourism Cooperation on the Agenda

One of the main agenda items of the visit was joint projects to be carried out in the field of health tourism between the two countries. Atasoy emphasized that Turkey’s healthcare infrastructure is a regional model and expressed their readiness to develop projects that could yield fast results with Georgia. The Ambassador underscored the significant potential between the two countries in health tourism, stating, “Turkey’s experience in the health sector presents an important opportunity for Georgia.”

A New Target in Export–Import: Honey Trade

Another noteworthy topic of the meeting was the goal of increasing the trade volume between the two countries. Concrete steps are planned to strengthen exports and imports, particularly in the honey sector. Atasoy highlighted that expanding cooperation in agricultural products would greatly contribute to both economies, adding, “We will continue our efforts to expand our trade with Georgia in many areas, especially honey.”

“We Will Further Strengthen Economic Relations”

ULUSKON President Atasoy noted that the current economic cooperation potential between Turkey and Georgia could be expanded much further. She said, “As ULUSKON, we are committed to bringing together the business communities of both countries on common platforms, supporting mutual investments, and advancing our economic ties.”

Joint Efforts to Continue Without Pause

The visit concluded with messages of mutual goodwill. Both sides agreed to establish joint working groups in the fields of health tourism, trade, and agricultural products. ULUSKON President Atasoy emphasized that they will continue to implement all necessary projects to elevate economic relations between the two countries to higher levels.
