“East Anatolia Economic Cooperation Forum” Held in Malatya Under the Leadership of ULUSKON
The East Anatolia Economic Cooperation Forum was held in Malatya under the leadership of the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON) and hosted by ULUSKON’s Malatya Provincial Presidency. The event brought together numerous ambassadors, diplomats, and key stakeholders.
Participants included Malatya Governor Mr. Seddar Yavuz, Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Sami Er, AK Party Malatya Deputy Mr. Bülent Tüfenkci, ambassadors from 30 different countries, representatives from the regional business community, and officials from both the public and private sectors.
ULUSKON President Nezaket Emine Atasoy, in her address at the forum, expressed her belief that the event would strengthen cooperation and dialogue between the Turkish business world and the international community. She stated:
“At ULUSKON, we are committed to advancing Türkiye’s international trade relations. The goal of this forum—which brings us together on a shared platform—is to promote the East Anatolia Region’s investment potential and business opportunities at local, national, and international levels. It also aims to establish direct contact and foster relationships between regional businesspeople and global economic actors, while encouraging sustainable cooperation between public and private sector representatives through diplomatic engagement. Today, we will discuss key topics such as recent developments in global trade cooperation, economic shifts worldwide, and the steps needed for a more prosperous future.”
Following her remarks, Ms. Atasoy presented the official certificate of mandate to Mr. Özcan Polat, newly appointed ULUSKON Malatya Provincial President.
In his speech, AK Party Deputy Mr. Bülent Tüfenkci emphasized that Türkiye has continued to increase its exports despite a global slowdown, stating “Thanks to its strategic geographic and geopolitical position, Türkiye continues to attract international investors as it has in the past. Despite regional geopolitical challenges, we aim to maintain strong and peaceful relations with all our neighbors. By fostering production and exports, we strive to create a collaborative economic environment where everyone benefits. Our government remains fully committed to this mission.”
Governor Mr. Seddar Yavuz also welcomed the international participants, noting Malatya’s historical role as a hub for trade and science. He stated:
“We envision a bright future for our city and continue to invest in its development. Trade is not only about generating profit—it also builds lasting friendships. Through mutual interests, we not only establish economic ties but also promote peace. We remain committed to standing for what is right and just, guided by ethical and moral principles rather than narrow self-interest.”
The program concluded with presentations and a productive exchange of views between Malatya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mr. Sami Er and representatives of the participating countries.
