ATASOY AND THE IRAQI AMBASSADOR TOGETHER: ECONOMIC BRIDGES ARE STRENGTHENING

Iraqi Ambassador Invites Atasoy to Baghdad

Majed Al-Lachmawi, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Ankara, hosted Nezaket Emine Atasoy, President of the International Investment and Business Confederation (ULUSKON) and United Nations Goodwill Ambassador, at the embassy. During the meeting, comprehensive evaluations were made regarding the strengthening of economic relations between Turkey and Iraq.

Trade Volume Between the Two Countries to Expand

The main agenda item of the meeting was planning to further expand the already substantial trade volume between Turkey and Iraq. ULUSKON President Atasoy emphasized the strong cooperation potential in every sector between the two countries, stating, “We believe that the business communities of Turkey and Iraq can reach a much broader economic landscape through joint efforts.”
Ambassador Majed Al-Lachmawi highlighted the great importance Iraq attaches to its commercial relations with Turkey, noting that new projects would be implemented to increase mutual investments.

Preparations Underway for Iraq Visit

Another significant topic of the meeting was the official visit that ULUSKON President Atasoy will make to Iraq. The visit, which will take place within the framework of a special program organized by Ambassador Al-Lachmawi, is expected to further strengthen the economic and diplomatic relations between the two countries. Atasoy stated that her contacts in Iraq would yield important outcomes in terms of both investments and sectoral cooperation, adding, “We will be more active on the ground to expand our joint projects with Iraq.”

Joint Efforts to Continue Without Pause

The meeting concluded with mutual messages of goodwill. Both parties agreed to form joint working groups in trade, investment, and various sectors. ULUSKON and Iraqi authorities emphasized that projects aimed at developing economic relations would continue without slowing down. Atasoy said, “We will continue working with all our capacity to advance Turkey–Iraq economic cooperation.”
