ULUSKON – Clarification Text on the Protection and Processing of Personal Data

Pursuant to the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK” or the “Law”), your personal data is processed by the International Investment and Business World Confederation (“ULUSKON”) in its capacity as data controller, within the scope described below.

1. Purposes and Legal Grounds for Processing Your Personal Data

Your personal data collected (identity, contact and membership information, request/complaint records and website usage data) is processed for the following purposes and on the following legal grounds, subject to the conditions set out in Articles 5 and 6 of the KVKK:

Membership and Communication Processes: Receiving and evaluating confederation membership applications, managing membership relations and communicating with our members (establishment and performance of a contract, Art. 5/2-c of the Law).
Event and Organisation Management: Planning and conducting summits, forums, trade delegation visits and meetings organised by ULUSKON (legitimate interest, Art. 5/2-f of the Law).
Commercial and Regional Cooperation: Developing international investment, trade and cooperation opportunities and making corporate announcements to members (legitimate interest, Art. 5/2-f of the Law).
Newsletter and Corporate Communication: Sending newsletters, magazines and informational messages, subject to your consent (explicit consent, Art. 5/1 of the Law).
Legal Obligations: Fulfilling our legal and administrative obligations arising from legislation and providing information to authorised institutions (legal obligation, Art. 5/2-ç of the Law).

2. Parties to Whom Personal Data May Be Transferred and Purposes of Transfer

In line with the purposes stated above and in accordance with Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK, your personal data may be transferred to:

Representative offices we cooperate with, solution partners and service providers (IT infrastructure, web hosting and e-mail providers),
Legally authorised public institutions and administrative/judicial authorities,

within the limits of the applicable legislation and with the necessary technical and administrative measures in place.

3. Method of Collecting Personal Data

Your personal data is collected by automatic or non-automatic means through the Join Us, Contact and Newsletter forms on our website, as well as via e-mail, telephone, physical membership forms and event participation records.

4. Rights of the Data Subject

Under Article 11 of the KVKK, as a data subject you have the right to:

Learn whether your personal data is being processed,
Request information if your personal data has been processed,
Learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in accordance with that purpose,
Know the third parties to whom your personal data is transferred, in Türkiye or abroad,
Request correction of your personal data if it is incomplete or inaccurate,
Request deletion or destruction of your data under Article 7 of the KVKK,
Request that corrections, deletions or destructions be notified to third parties to whom the data has been transferred,
Object to a result arising to your detriment from the analysis of your data exclusively by automated systems,
Claim compensation for damages incurred due to unlawful processing of your personal data.

5. Application Procedure and Contact

You may submit your requests regarding your rights under the Law to ULUSKON, in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, by the following methods:

By E-mail: By sending an e-mail to [email protected] using a secure electronic signature, mobile signature, or the e-mail address you previously notified to us and registered in our systems.

Your request will be concluded free of charge as soon as possible and within 30 (thirty) days at the latest, depending on its nature.
