At the meeting, ULUSKON Chairman, United Nations (UNOPS) Advisor and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Advisor Nezaket Emine Atasoy and Ambassador of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus İsmet Korukoğlu came together. Within the scope of the meeting, it was stated that they will work to increase communication and cooperation between the bilateral business world. At the meeting, the steps to be taken in order to discover the economic and commercial potential of Cyprus and to realize joint projects were discussed. At the meeting, the issues that Cyprus is developing rapidly in the IT sector and that there is a serious construction sector were also discussed. In his speech at the meeting, Ambassador Korukoğlu stated that Cyprus has a great growth potential in the solar energy sector. Noting that investments in this area should be increased and the use of renewable energy resources should be encouraged, Ambassador Korukoğlu emphasized that the first to act will be the winner. Ambassador Korukoğlu said, “Cyprus has become an important center for international cooperation with its potential in the technology and construction sectors. Business representatives are determined to take steps to make the best use of the opportunities offered by Cyprus and to strengthen sectoral collaborations.
ULUSKON plans to organize a visit as soon as possible in order to further its cooperation with Cyprus. This visit will provide ULUSKON members with the opportunity to get to know the business environment in Cyprus better and explore cooperation opportunities. In addition, it is aimed to further strengthen the cooperation between the two countries through business conferences and meetings. The cooperation between ULUSKON and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Embassy will make a significant contribution to the strengthening of commercial relations between Turkey and Cyprus. The joint efforts of the two sides and the spirit of cooperation will allow for the economic development of Cyprus and the strengthening of regional cooperation.
